First Week of Advent Sermon 28th November 2021 (draft)   Dear People of God, Today is the week of Advent, Advent is the start of the Christian year. The word ''Advent'' comes from the Latin word ''Adventus" which means ''coming'' or ''arrival'. Advent is a time for preparation and expectation of the Second coming of Jesus. The priests will be using ''Blue'' Color symbolizing ''Hope'', as Jesus said ''they will see the Son of Man, coming in a cloud with power and great glory'' Our theme for today is ''Waiting with hope for the branch of David'' i would like to divide the theme into 3 parts, 1.WATCH 2.WAIT 3.WONDER In our Christian life Watching and waiting are two important qualities.  “ இயேசுவும் பெண்களும்” (Jesus and Women) எம் எல்லோருடைய வாழ்விலும் பெண்கள் பெரும் பங்குவகிக்கின்றனர். தாயாக, சகோதரியாக, தோழியாக, காதலியாக, மனைவியாக இன்னும் பல வகையிலே. இவ்வாறு நாம் பூமியில் கால்பதித்த காலம் முதல் நாம் பூமியிலிருந்து விடை பெறும் ; வரை இப்பூமியில் பெண்ணானவள் எம்மோடு பயணிக்கிறாள். வரலாற்றில் இருந்து இன்று வரை பெண்கள் பல விதமான முறையிலே துன்பப்படுகிறார்கள், துயரப்படுகிறார்கள், வேதனைப்படுகிறார்கள். நடைமுறை உலகிலும் பெண்கள் உள ரீதியாக, உடல் ரீதியாக, உணர்வு ரீதியாக, பொருளாதார, அரசியல், சமய, சமூக ரீதியாக துன்பப்படுகிறார்கள். இந்திய தலித் பெண்ணியலாளர்களின் கருத்துப்படி பெண்கள் சாதி, வகுப்புவாத, பால், நிற ரீதியாக ((caste, class, gender and colour)) சமுதாயத்தில் ஒடுக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்.  இயேசு வாழ்ந்த காலத்தில் பெண்கள், சிறுவர்கள் மற்றும் ஏழைகளின் நிலை மிகவும் மோசமாக காணப்பட்டது. இக்காலம ; ‘‘Patriarchal Society’’ என அழைக்கப்பட்டது. ஆணாதிக்க சமூகமாகவே யூத சமுதாயம் ஆரம்ப காலந்தொட்டு காணப்பட்டது. ❖ பெண்கள்  மிகவும் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டவர்களாகவும் ,புறந்தள்ளப்பட்டவர்களாகவும் கரு...

One day parents from far villages heard that Jesus will be coming to a nearby village.They spoke amongst themselves,’’ we should go and meet Jesus, he is very concerned about the poor and the marginalised. His sermons are good, I heard that Jesus is very friendly with all.   வைரமுத்து அவர்களின் வைர எழுத்துக்களால் செதுக்கப்பட்டது மூன்றாம் உலகப் போர். இயற்கை, விஞ்ஞானம், சூழலியல் , சமூகவியல்,பொருளியல், கிராமியவாழ்வு,நகர வாழ்வு, விவசாயத்தின் மேன்மைகள்,விவசாயிகளின் சாபக்கேடான வாழ்க்கை, கோபம்,வீரம்,பாசம்,சூழ்ச்சி,காதல்,. ஏமாற்றம் ,அழுகை ,பூரிப்பு , சந்தோஷம் ,மனக்கவலை, போன்ற உலகத் தகவல்களோடு உணர்ச்சிகளையும் புகுத்தி எம் கண் முன் உயிரோடு உலாவ விட்டிருக்கிறார் ஆசிரியர். வைரமுத்து அவர்களின் பாடல்களை கேட்டு வளர்ந்தவன் நான் ஆனால் அவரின் எழுத்துக்களை முதன்முதலாக வாசிக்கின்றேன், கதாபாத்திரங்களை உயிரோடு உண்மையிலேயே கண்முன் கொண்டு வந்து நிறுத்துகிறார், அவரின் வார்த்தைகளுக்கு வாழ்வுள்ளது.அவரின் மனிதர்களுக்கு சீவனுள்ளது. அட்டணம்பட்டியில் ஒருவனாக கருத்தம்மாயி, சிட்டம்மா,முத்துமணி,சின்னப்பாண்டி, எமிலி இஹி,சீனிச்சாமி, போன்றோருடைய வாழ்ந்த அனுபவம் இவ் வாசிப்பு. நான் இப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு பதிவை எழுதியதே இல்லை எனினும் எழுதியதன் காரணம் இப்புத்தகத்தின் மேன்மை.

  Quarantine or Valentine ? Lockdown : Reflection for Maundy Thursday During my Childhood, I always had a doubt in my heart, why we call this day ‘Maundy Thursday’, what is the reason behind this? Later I found some interesting information, the word Maundy is derived from the Latin word, ‘Mandatum’, that means ‘Commandment’, Jesus gives a new Commandment to his disciples saying ‘Love one another, just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’ (John 13.34-35).  As a country and as a world we are undergoing a period of Lockdown. Due to curfew, our daily routine has been changed. Due to this change, many are fighting for their daily life especially the daily waged community, Construction workers, drivers, waiters & cooks in small hotels etc. As we think of their lives they have been struggling to run their family during the normal days now in this this lockdown scenario their...

Child abuse, neglect, exploitation, child labor, bodily harm, child marriage, and other forms of harm against children — are among the greatest evils in the world.  As humans we should be against this inhuman culture of Child Labour. We should speak against these social evils. Like many major problems in the world, Child labour is a burning issue. It is a wicked problem with poverty, lack of education facilities, lack of encouragement and awareness among students and inadequate state governance.  Children are a precious gift from God.
